Dottie Rambo

Dottie Rambo died May 11th 2008 but left behind a legacy of songs from over 50years of service to the Lord. Her style was predominantly country in genre although Dottie was also a guitarist. Dottie also released songs in genres of folk, rock, R&B, soul, inspirational, or pop - further giving glory to the Master in as wide scope as possible.

The Lord entrusted a great wealth of songs to Dottie and she delivered effectively on them over her lifetime. Some of the songs the Lord gave to Dottie include "We Shall Behold Him, If That Isn't Love, I Go To The Rock, I Will Glory In The Cross, Sheltered In The Arms Of God,He Looked Beyond My Fault (and Saw My Need),Oil And The Wine,Tears Will Never Stain The Streets Of That City, I’ve Never Been This Homesick Before. Dottie truly was an icon in service to Christ - undoubtably Dottie exhibited great humility and a strong love for the Lord.

Dottie's ministry started at the age of 12 although she started writing at age 8. Like most people Dottie had troubles in life including a marriage divorce from her husband but she stayed in service to the Lord. This is highly commendable and an enduring legacy - the Lord's labourers are very precious to Him as are their death.

In May 11 2008, Dottie died the death of the righteous and was taken from the earth, her life serves as an example of service and devotion to the Maker particularly in the specific area of our calling. Her legacy shall live and endure..

Numbers 23:18 "Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!"

Numbers 31:8 "And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.

Panam Percy Paul

Lord we are sorry – we’ve turned around and gone astray. Your Love for us we have betrayed. Your power we don’t recognise. Your Lordship, we have all despised – we cannot pretend. We all now repent, forgive us Lord we pray…….(From the Album “Bring down your glory”).

Dr Panam, as popularly called has been a prominent figure in the Nigerian gospel music scene for over 2 decades – a faithful servant. Faithfulness requires steadfastness regardless of other influences – Dr Panam’s music has retained its ingenious composition, arrangement, lyrics, tempo, style and delivery in spite of changes in popularly accepted music over the last 2 decades.

Born into a poor family, Dr Panam grew up in Zaira in northern Nigeria of the sobo tribe. Like many champions and captains of recent time, Dr Panam would have died before fulfilling his destiny. Sick and poor in health at a young age, the doctors gave up on him but the Lord turned Dr Panam to Himself, that he may seek His help at that time. Dr Panam called on Him and was miraculously healed.

In 1982, broke and without food to it, Dr Panam’s family faced a financial and domestic crisis. Again the Lord provided and gave Dr Panam and his family victory.

Dr Panam has been assisted in ministry by other valiant servants such Tom Moses. Dr Panam has also stayed within the gospel solely and isn’t credited with any other material outside of it – a commendable service. The gospel is an eternal one and there’s more than enough to write about and sing of in the gospel alone.

Dr Panam is still in ministry and is an exemplary example for many musicians of this time.

Susan O'Marra (Nee Cummings)

Very few individuals have been canonised by Scripture – I reckon Susan is and currently resides in the United States.

Ray Boltz

Ray is 55years old this year and ministered solely christian music for over 3 decades. A guitarist with a very distinct vocal and outstanding composition ability, he was entrusted with alot of songs not commonly sang as part of present day praise/ worship but yet are still good for personal reflection.

Ray's songs were more allegorical and reflective - they touched many lives and are unique in their composition, delivery and style. A direct testament of the talent and grace bestowed on Ray - very few artists can perform Ray Boltz's songs like he does, his delivery is very unique.

Ray is a hero of the current time and unlike Andre, Ray also serves as a lesson. In December 2004, Ray revealed to his close family he was homosexual and in September this year to everyone else. A shock no doubt but he had also retired from christian music and began life as a "homosexual" christian with a same sex partner (divorcing his wife of many years) but Ray performed recently.

Homosexuality can be overcome and in revealing his nature in this regard, Ray has taken an important first step in overcoming sexual desire. He however has erred and has left the ministry entrusted to Him for which many have received great blessings. Crucially, rather than overcoming sexual desires, he has succumbed to it and conformed his life to serve these.

There is hope and restoration is yet possible - many seek an answer/ solution and find none but one yet exists. Ray is a hero but can also be a captain or even a champion in the current time. The joy of the Lord is man's strength - men are never stronger than when they give God joy even though men may not feel that strength. God's grace is made perfect in men's weakness. Ray's ministry of praise and worship to the Master is a delight to the Lord in spite of Ray's sexual orientation.

Infact, it's the Lord's grace that sustained Ray while Ray was in His service in spite of Ray's condition, but by leaving His service Ray has side stepped and regressed.

Ray Boltz serves as an example of what can be achieved by God in mortal fallable men for all Ray's achievements are by Him. Also and crucially, Ray serves as an example of man complete dependence on God. We need God to be Champions, Captain or even Heros - we need God to overcome in Life and have total victory in all areas.

None have become Champions, Captain or Heros without Him...
